AIRPORT SHUTTLE DRIVER

Casual | Whitsunday Coast Airport to Airlie Beach

Airlie Airport Bus at Whitsunday Coast Airport

Airlie Airport Bus has operated from Shop 1 in the Arrivals Hall at Whitsunday Coast Airport for over 10 years, meeting every Jetstar and Virgin Australia flight with door-to-door transfers to Airlie Beach and surrounds.

In September 2026 our passenger numbers were up 50% on the same month last year. We’re growing our driving team ahead of the peak season, with casual positions from 15–25 and 25–30 hours per week.

Shifts are rostered to the flight schedule, with a minimum of 3 hours per shift. This is a hands-on role covering driving, the airport desk and keeping vehicles presentable. For many visitors, you’re the first person they meet in the Whitsundays.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Safely transport passengers between the airport and their accommodation
  • Check in passengers, sell tickets and take payments at the airport desk
  • Use our online booking and check-in systems on a phone or tablet
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service
  • Keep vehicles clean and presentable between runs

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • A current LR licence (or higher)
  • A Driver Authorisation (General), or is willing to obtain one before starting
  • A clean driving record
  • Confidence with computers, smartphones and apps (we run everything online)
  • A reliable, punctual and well-presented approach

Pay and conditions:

  • Award rates: weekdays $36.94/hr, Saturdays $51.71/hr, Sundays $66.49/hr, public holidays $81.26/hr
  • Paid fortnightly
  • Weekend and public holiday shifts optional
  • Vehicles: Toyota HiAce, Toyota Coaster and Mitsubishi Rosa

About the Driver Authorisation: There’s no fee to apply for a DA (General). First-time applicants need a criminal history check and a medical assessment.
